FRIDAY July 23rd
Another hot day on the hog. Around here when they do the weather forecast they not only give the expected high temperature, they also give the heat index. You know how people say when it is 105 in Arizona, “It’s a dry heat”, like that makes it cooler? Well, when it is a moist heat it makes a huge difference, and it is called the heat index. So today, the high was around 100 but the heat index said it would be “Hotter than Hades”! OK, it didn’t say that, it said it would feel like it was between 105 and 110. When we left the hotel this morning at 7:30 it was already 80 outside. We rode about 310 miles today and stopped early to get out of the heat. Checked into our hotel at 2 PM. Love air conditioning!
So, about all we did today was ride, stop for gas and water and ride some more. Tomorrow looks to be interesting with a couple of sights to see. We will be in Key West (finally) on Sunday.
Just a couple photos today and nothing special, just of us crossing state borders. Oh, I have to add that the visitor center we stopped at as we got into Georgia was by far the nicest and fanciest visitor center I have ever been in.
Good night, sleep well, and God bless.
